Meeting notes on your Mac, free, with every note kept.
Granola is a good meeting notepad. Mythral does the same job, it listens to your side and the other side of the call and writes the notes, with no bot joining, but it does all of it on your Mac. Your calls are never uploaded, and that's why it can be free.

Where Granola is better
It runs on your phone and on Windows, shares notes with your team, and connects to more calendars and tools. If your team works in shared notes every day, it fits that better. Mythral is for one person's meetings on one Mac.
Who switches
People who can't send client calls to a cloud service, consultants, lawyers, advisers and anyone under a confidentiality agreement, and people who don't want older notes locked behind a subscription. Mythral needs an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 14.4 or later and about 3.7 GB for its models.
Common questions
Is it really free? Yes. No trial, no account, no meeting limit. It's free because it runs on your Mac.
Does anything leave my Mac? No. Recordings, transcripts and notes stay on your Mac, stored encrypted. The privacy page lists exactly what the app stores and sends.
Do I need to tell people I'm taking notes? Follow your local law and your firm's policy on recording calls; many places require consent. Mythral never joins the call itself.
