AI meeting notes that stay on systems you control.
Dictation and meeting notes that run on the Mac. Deal talk, client portfolios and material non-public information never reach a vendor's server.
Can we use AI notes without losing control of the record?
Regulators now treat AI meeting notes as part of the record you supervise and keep. A cloud note-taker keeps that record on someone else's server. Mythral keeps it on your Macs, for as long as your rules say, and exports it to your archive.
Why cloud note-takers are a problem
AI notes are now a supervision question.
FINRA's 2026 oversight report treats AI-generated summaries, including meeting notes, under supervision and recordkeeping rules.

Unapproved channels draw fines.
The SEC has fined firms hundreds of millions of dollars for business communications kept on channels they didn't control.
Note-takers capture MNPI.
Fund counsel warn that cloud note-takers record and store material non-public information with a third party.
What Mythral does about it
The record stays on your Macs
Recognition, notes and dictation run on Apple silicon. Transcripts and kept audio are encrypted on the Mac. No vendor holds a copy.
Retention set by your firm
Keep transcripts for as long as your recordkeeping rules require. Notes export to Word, PDF or Markdown for your archive.
Locked down with your MDM
Offline mode, blocked apps, a consent check before recording, and every other setting, locked on every Mac.
Nothing to supervise outside the firm
No accounts, no telemetry, no bot in the call. Every connection the app can make is documented.
The controls your IT team sets
Each is a key in a configuration profile for com.mythral.app. Set it and it is locked on every Mac. See every setting.

Questions your risk committee will ask
Does Mythral ever see our conversations?
No. There is no Mythral server. Speech recognition, notes and dictation run on the Mac, and transcripts and kept audio are encrypted there with AES-GCM. We never receive your data, so there is nothing for us to store, lose or hand over.
How does this fit our recordkeeping obligations?
Your compliance team decides that. Mythral gives you the pieces: transcripts kept for as long as you set, including indefinitely, and notes exported to Word, PDF or Markdown for your archive. Don't set transcripts to delete sooner than your rules require.
Can people email notes out of the app?
Only if you allow it. EmailNotesAllowed turns off drafting notes into Mail, Gmail or Outlook.
Can AI tools on the Mac read meetings?
Not if you say so. disableAIToolAccess stops AI tools such as Claude reading meetings through Mythral.
Can IT stop it from connecting to the internet?
Yes. With OfflineMode set in your MDM profile, the app makes no connections of its own: no downloads, no update checks. The installer carries every model. Every connection the app can make is listed on the security page.
Does a bot join the call?
No. Mythral listens to the Mac's own audio, so it works with Zoom, Teams, Meet and phone calls without joining anything.
Does it work with Outlook calendars?
Mythral reads meetings from the macOS Calendar app. Add your Microsoft 365, Exchange or Google account in System Settings › Internet Accounts, and meetings arrive with their titles and attendees.
What happens to notes when someone leaves?
They are on that person's Mac, encrypted, and follow your usual device process. IT can remove the app and every account's data with the uninstall script.
